First Line Fridays

First Line Fridays – 2.9.18

It’s First Line Friday time.  Today’s first line is taken from another novella in the collection titled “Four Weddings and A Kiss”

The Novella is titled:

A Cowboy for Katie by Debra Clopton

So here’s the first line.  Drumroll please…….

She might be as crazy as they said, but Katie Pearl had learned that most men were light between the ears.

And as a bonus, here is the first line of the prologue that leads into all the four novellas:

Reverend Gregory Miller dreaded going home.

In return, I hope you will share the first line from any book you choose in the comments below.  And then head on over to:

First Line Friday

Happy Reading,

Denise

  1. I find novella too short so I usually don’t read them. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. I am featuring one of my favorite author’s sentient cat tales. It is about Joe Grey and friends as they aid the police catch criminals.

  2. Great first line! I’ve enjoyed the couple Debra Clopton books I’ve gotten my hands on.

Here’s the first line from my current read.

Four years to the day after the alien planet arrived above Earth, Sofi’s papa had collapsed on the rickety front porch of their buttermilk-yellow farmhouse. –Reclaiming Shilo Snow by Mary Weber

  3. Josie Gallagher gripped the letter from the county manager’s office with tight hands. – Her Secret Daughter by Ruth Logan Herne

Happy Friday and Happy Reading! 🙂

  4. Happy Friday! My first line is from Forward to What Lies Ahead by Chloe S. Flanagan:

“Regina’s cellphone buzzed sharply, shattering the silence of her apartment and making her coffee table vibrate.”

  5. It’s probably best I don’t comment on the accuracy of that opening line …

I’ve got the first line from The Saturday Night Supper club up on my blog, and I’m currently reading another great contemporary romance – Paper Hearts by Courtney Walsh. She’s one of my new favourite authors. Here’s the first line:

“I can’t believe she did this to me again.” Abigail Pressman stared at the computer screen in disbelief.

Would love to hear your thoughts....
