My word for 2023 is Change! It took a while to My word for 2023 is Change!

It took a while to select this next word. And it may seem like an odd choice, but this year will mark a lot of change in our home, with our middle son graduating college and our youngest graduating high school.

Besides change that comes with the seasons of life, I’m working on change for myself. Habits 👣, health 🥗⚕️🏋️, scenery (I.e. travel ✈️) and of course my manuscripts 📚. Editing means change. Sometimes small and sometimes big. I need to commit to edit them all the way to publication. 📖

I look forward to exploring this word more this year. And thought I’d share a pic of me in my new bold computer glasses! Change sometimes means being bold with your choices. It’s fun to add some color on those zoom calls for work. 🤣

As I close out 2022, I love to reflect on the year As I close out 2022, I love to reflect on the year. And my word of the year. I have loved the word work this year. I have worked on my faith (which always needs work), my health, on my manuscript, and other parts of my life. It’s been a good word to find quotes and inspiration around me. And as usual, I’m sad to move on, but excited for a new word to focus on in the new year.

I have a word journal where I explore the verses and quotes I find with my word in them.

To share, here’s what I wrote about this verse thinking of it from the perspective of the word work.

As I process feedback and scores from a recent contest, I know God has a plan for my writing. But it’s hard. I’ve learned so much but know I can learn more. Learning takes work. I take work. Writing/creating something to have an impact takes work. God has prepared a path and I want to walk it. I’m not afraid of the work, it just takes so much time. And so being patient takes work too. Put in the work!
